W. Michael Jones, CEP®

Hey I’m Michael! I help busy mid-career professionals create flexible financial plans that help them achieve independence. Through a combination of investment management, strategy creation, and general oversight, I act as a counselor and partner to my clients.

I started my career in financial services at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. I saw first-hand how even in the wake of financial calamity, small investors were mostly left to fend for themselves. After several years as a media consultant to financial firms, I transitioned to the advice side of the business. My dream was to create a fee-only, totally independent firm—no commissions, no products, no hidden agenda. So I started Boulevard Money.

In additional to being a Certified Estate Planner™, I hold the WSET Level 3 award in Wine—one of my life’s other passions. When I’m not working with clients (or tasting wines), I’m usually running, reading or playing tennis.

I serve as Chair of the Board of The Branch of Nashville, a Nashville non-profit that works with immigrants and refugees as they become self-sufficient. I am also a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system with CASA Nashville.

By my count, I’m a seventh-generation Tennessean and a Nashville native. Please don’t call me a unicorn. And Nashville is where my wife and I have put down roots to raise our family.
